Upstate York: .RRIMAN, har'i-man, Edward Henry (1848-909), American railroad financier and administrator, who reorganized and consolidated railroads in the western part of the United States. Harriman was born in Hempstead, N. Y., on Feb. 20, 1848, and at 14 left school to work as an office boy on Wall Street. At 22, with family aid, he bought a seat on the New York Stock Exchange. He became interested in reorganizing bankrupt railroads and successfully transformed a small line in upstate york New York.
The flowers, trees, and shrubs in the following list have been chosen from that point of view: The days of late September, October, and most of November in my garden in the Catskill Mountains of upstate york New York. They perform in Zone 5 with late-season flowering or brilliant shows of foliage.
So imagine taking a short walk in your backyard, perhaps from the front along the side and then around to the back and passing the following plants:
Early last spring while walking through a large garden center i upstate york New York, I spotted a pile of used wine barrels that had bee cut in half. Trw could also be lined with heavy plastic, carefully stapling the plastic edge to the inside top of the cask. Or a readily available plastic tub i 19-inch diameter and 9-inch depth could be set inside the barrel aft using some concrete blocks to line up the edges. |
