The Green: Through the exhibition and related programming, The Green House will explore developments in sustainability and will provide an informative overview of this dynamic design movement.
This exhibition will take a look at some questions home-owners often ask when considering a green home or product, including: What makes a product green?
How is a green home healthier, safer, and more comfortable? and How much does it cost to 'go green?'
Because Clerk Maxwell added red, green, and blue light together, this technique is called additive. An equal ad¬dition of the three colors forms white; red and green add to form yellow; red and blue, magenta; green and blue, the blue-green known by photographers as cyan. It is important to bear in mind that this theory holds true only for colored light; the mixture of pigments is an¬other matter.See Also Apple- Green:Among the varieties of chal¬cedony, carnelian, or sard, is red or brownish-red; chrysoprase, apple- greengreen; prase, a dull, darker green; plasma, leek green or emerald green; and bloodstone, dark green with small red spots, like drops of blood. Agate, a chalcedony with delicate parallel bands of color, or irregularly clouded color effects, is white, red, brown, or blue. Moss agate contains mosslike forms caused by oxide of manganese. In onyx, the differently colored bands are straight and parallel. Sardonyx is onyx con¬taining bands of carnelian (sard).
Green foods—Best choice is sproutings of bird seed planted in flower pot saucers (see Part III); otherwise, use ready-planted seed bought at pet shops; fresh, green, crisp lettuce may be given; when available, give fresh apple, wild chickweed, or fresh young weed growth; all green food must be clean, fresh, and dry.
Fasten several pieces in convenient places; replace with fresh pieces monthly.
Use flower pot saucer or other small dish; place in cage at same time each morning; remove after bath.
On The Other Hand See Green Construction:Green Construction 2006
Green Construction 2006 will bring all segments of the Northern California building community together to focus on the important issue of sharing green practices and discussing ways to further recognize and encourage sustainable building.
New Achitectural Technology Program Emphasizes Green Building Design
In response to a world grappling with finite supplies of fossil fuels and other resources, Centennial College has launched a new full-time program in architectural technology that emphasizes sustainable building design and construction.
"Sustainability is the important next direction in architectural design and construction," says Ted Rosen, an architect and program coordinator at Centennial. |
