Strong Feature Henderson: Without a well formulated intervention programme, a detailed assessment is of only limited value.
A strong feature Henderson feature of Henderson and Sugden's Movement Assessment Battery is the way in which it connects identification and assessment directly to teaching and evaluation. At the level of intervention it is grounded in principles that stress the importance of planning and considering stages of learning that children go through. These principles are similar to those identified as important by Haring et al. (1978) and Wedell (1995). My own summary of these principles, and their application to the needs of young children with DCD is as follows:
He then began to compose verses, but received little encouragement. In 1877, for the purpose of proving that his verses under a famous name would receive recognition, he perpetrated the famous Poe hoax, which he later sincerely regretted. By arrangement with J. Oscar Henderson, publisher of the Dispatch of Kokomo, Ind., Riley wrote, and Henderson printed, a poem in the style of Edgar Allan Poe, to which he gave the characteristic title of Leo-nanie, and offered it to the public as a hitherto unpublished product of the genius of Poe.
Rich colors and strong feature Henderson patterns are better for large rooms, where there is space to make them a dominant feature. Smaller rooms look less overwhelmed with curtains in gentler tones and small, subtle patterns. Pale-colored curtains are a good choice for dark rooms, reflecting the maximum available light. If the decor is bland, you can make a feature of the curtains with highly contrasting colors and patterns. It is best to match the size of any pattern to the size of the windows. To unify a room, use matching or complimentary colors. |
