Planted Surface Covered: An easy way of doing this is to lay a Flexible steel door mat over the newly distributed stolons, heap fine soil on it, then, with the back ofa rake, spread it level with the tops of the treads of the mat. Remove any surplus soil, lift the mat carefully (a two person job) and treat the adjoining area in the same way. Repeat this until the whole planted surface covered surface is covered with soil. Then roll lightly.
The brooms can best be described as evergreen whips covered in early summer with pea-like blossoms of pink or yellow. They are spectacular and Cytisus x kewensis, 8 by 4 inches, is one of the hardiest. These plants do their best when planted surface covered in the well-drained soil of a rock garden.
A few years ago sharp debate centered about the nature of the lunar surface. One theory held that the soil was powdery, deep, and electrostatically charged. Hence, scientists feared that a landing craft might Sink out of sight beneath the surface, or that it might be enveloped in a blanket of dust. The Surveyor landing crafts put an end to these fears. They revealed that the lunar surface is covered with a fine soil that has a consistency somewhat like turned earth. |
