Use of a VHP radio in U.S. waters does not require any operator york Stock license. For operation of a Single Sideband radio, or any radio on a craft carrying six or fewer passengers for hire, the lowest grade of radio operator york Stock license—a Restricted Radiotelephone operator york Stock Permit—is adequate. For vessels carrying more than six passengers in commercial service, the operator york Stock must have a Marine Radiotelephone operator york Stock Permit. A higher class license is available for people with technical training and experience, but they are needed only for making tuning adjustments and repairs.
