Green Bananas: The tropics support a wide variety of both root and leaf vegetables, most of which are mainly eaten locally. Two that have become more widely familiar are the green bananas or plantains, which are prominent in so much Creole cookery, and okra or gumbo (Hibiscus esculentus), which is a close relaŽtion of cotton.
As if I was not already impressed, the desserts offered really put me over the edge. Imagine Bananas Foster (Friday and Saturday only), Deep Fried Bananas and Deep Fried Strawberries arriving at your table. The most creative dessert, the Deep-Fried Strawberries ($6.95), featured four large, fresh strawberries deep-fried in a crisp, light and mildly sweet batter, cut in half, and placed gently upon a sherry sauce. What a nice ending to a most enjoyable dining experience.See Also Apple Green Has Been:Among the varieties of chalŽcedony, carnelian, or sard, is red or brownish-red; chrysoprase, apple green has been-green; prase, a dull, darker green; plasma, leek green or emerald green; and bloodstone, dark green with small red spots, like drops of blood. Agate, a chalcedony with delicate parallel bands of color, or irregularly clouded color effects, is white, red, brown, or blue. Moss agate contains mosslike forms caused by oxide of manganese. In onyx, the differently colored bands are straight and parallel. Sardonyx is onyx conŽtaining bands of carnelian (sard).
Green foodsBest choice is sproutings of bird seed planted in flower pot saucers (see Part III); otherwise, use ready-planted seed bought at pet shops; fresh, green, crisp lettuce may be given; when available, give fresh apple green has been, wild chickweed, or fresh young weed growth; all green food must be clean, fresh, and dry.
Fasten several pieces in convenient places; replace with fresh pieces monthly.
Use flower pot saucer or other small dish; place in cage at same time each morning; remove after bath.
On The Other Hand See Mix Of Green:Through the exhibition and related programming, The Green House will explore developments in sustainability and will provide an informative overview of this dynamic design movement.
This exhibition will take a look at some questions home-owners often ask when considering a green home or product, including: What makes a product green?
How is a green home healthier, safer, and more comfortable? and How much does it cost to 'go green?'
Because Clerk Maxwell added red, green, and blue light together, this technique is called additive. An equal adŽdition of the three colors forms white; red and green add to form yellow; red and blue, magenta; green and blue, the blue-green known by photographers as cyan. It is important to bear in mind that this theory holds true only for colored light; the mix of greenture of pigments is anŽother matter. |
