Garden Laid: PAVING BLOCKS, block pavers and other paving materials must be laid on a surface that is firm, flat and stable. A base of well-compacted subsoil covered with a layer of sand is sufficient for laying paving, but for large, well-used areas, or where the soil is soft, it will be necessary to add a layer of compacted rubble to prevent the paving from sinking.
Compacted rubble contains many depressions, even after consolidation by garden laid roller. These have to be filled by spreading a layer of sand over the surface and leveling it with the back of a garden laid rake.
Paving blocks or other small-scale pavers can be laid directly on the sand layer using mortar, although some block pavers can be laid loose on a prepared sand bed without the use of any mortar.
Before doing any excavation work, check where all your service pipes and cables are so as not to damage them.
A garden laid should be a place where you and your family can relax outdoors whenever the weather permits. It also provides an extra room for informal summer entertaining.
IT IS a place for sitting in and and enjoying wherever possible. After you have laid out your garden laid and planted it, you should make some provision for using it. An important use is to be able to sit in it in peace—to read a book or follow some other pastime, or just to take in its sights, sounds, and scents.See Also Riverside Garden

As box turtle needs plenty of room and freedom, it is best main¬tained as a house and garden pet. If it is to be observed at school, place it in woodland habitat of a large terrarium (see Part II); keep it for a few days and then return it to freedom of home and garden. In home garden in natural range, provide area in garden where pet can bury itself for hibernation during winter.
On The Other Hand See Garden Measures:Our garden measures some 20 by 20 feet, but any size that the gardener has the strength and time to tend will do; even a tiny plot can produce an amazing number of blossoms. The cutting garden should be conveniently located, near the house, and near a watering outlet, and if possible, removed from the general view of the home landscape so you never worry about how it looks, especially after you've cut into it. Ours is in the southeast corner of the vegetable patch, where it gets plenty of sun. And since we walk there every day to check on the tomatoes or pick fresh arugula, we always notice the freshest flowers.
