Entire Surface: Old tacks and nails must first be removed or hammered down below the surface using a nail set. Loose boards, which squeak and may warp, should be nailed down securely; use screws to force a warped edge back in place.
If the floorboards are uneven over the entire floor, there are two solutions. First, lay a sheet of masonite over the entire Floor -smooth side up unless you are laying carpet tiles.
