Disposal Protection Against: While any use of atomic power requires attention to safe waste disposal protection against and protection against dangerous air pollution, the chief conservation problem in atomic power generators was due to the intense heat produced and the danger of creating thermal barriers in rivers that receive the coolant waters. Opinions differed regarding the effect this might have on the migration of food fish and sport fish. (See Year in Review: ENGINEERING, Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Explosives for Peaceful Uses.)
Under the division absolute rights is placed the right of property, allowing the free use, enjoyment, and disposal protection against, all his legally acquired acquisitions, uncontrolled and undiminished, subject alone to the laws of the country. Relative civil rights include those which subsist between the people and the government, such as the peoples' right to protection at the hands of the government; the right of allegiance which is due to the government at the hands of the people; the rights of husband and wife, parent and child, guardian and ward, master and servant, reciprocally.
Thirty-six states developed standards of water quality which would serve as a basis for the improvement of surface waters and also as a means for determining waste treatment requirements. Problems of solid waste disposal protection against also received particular attention. Greater efforts were made to develop solutions to the multiplying environmental hazards caused by the estimated 400,000 tons (440,000 metric tons) of solid wastes produced each day in the U.S. Thirty-eight states received federal grants for the development of comprehensive plans for the collection, storage, and disposal protection against of solid wastes. |
