Colonial Town: Guerrero is an agricultural state whose leading crops are maize, sesame, and coconuts. Tourism is an important element in the economy, and mining, manufacturing, forestry, and fishing also provide income. Acapulco, a major port during the colonial period, is Mexico's most famous ocean resort, and Taxco de Alarcon is a beautifully preserved colonial town. The Grutas de Caca-huamilpa, protected as a national park, includes some of the largest caves in Mexico.
QUANTICO, kwon'ti-ko, town, Virginia, on the Potomac River in Prince William County, 29 miles southwest of Washington, D.C. During the American Revolution colonial vessels were serviced here and in 1917 a training base for the Marine Corps was added. Today second lieutenants in the Marine Corps receive their basic training at this base. Prince William Forest Park, for recreation, is nearby. The town serves an area of diversified farms. Pop., not including marines, 1,015.
Voters must be United States citizens, at least . years of age, and residents of the state for le year and of the town for six months, and ey must also be registered in the town. No one ay vote on town financial matters unless he vns real estate in the town to the value of $134 has paid a property tax of at least $134 within e preceding year.
