Charming Garden Hotel: A recent regional development is the chain of new Tourist Hotels, owned and operated by the National Tourist Organization, these being supplemented by certain non-government places. These establishments are called simply Tourist Pavilion if Guest House, with some exceptions which I will specify in the following list of locations: Daphni; Delphi (Tourist Hotel); Corinth; Mykinai or Mycenae; Nauplion (Hotel Am-fitrion); Epidaurus; Xylocastron (here there is, in addition, a non-govern¬ment hotel, recently opened—the Tsaldari); Olympia (Hotel Spap, an¬other non-government place); Sounion (although called Tourist Pavilion and Guest House this one has no bedrooms); Delos Island; and Mykonos Island (Hotel Lito). As a sample of the Tourist Pavilions, be sure to visit the one at Daphni, near Athens. It is charming in every way and is sur¬rounded by a pleasant garden.
The Rock has a life of its own, most of its inhabitants still using the Spanish language, though British occupation has been continuous for 250 years and everything of an official nature, including money and postage stamps, is as British as London. It can delight those who don't expect too much of it and can disappoint those who do. Main Street is a dull British-colonial street and its hotels, though clean, are just as dull. You'll probably want to escape this street and engage accommodations at the modern and handsomely located Rock Hotel, a little way out on Europa Road, or per¬haps you'll stay at the charming garden hotel called Reina Cristina, at Algeciras, on Spanish soil across the bay. It is only half an hour distant by ferry.See Also Moonlight Garden Are White:I've left out white Madonna or Easter lilies only because I person¬ally find their evening fragrance just a bit too overpowering for my tastes but they, too, make a fine addition to the moonlight garden.
If you have more room try adding a white poppy (Papaver orientale 'Ban's White'), some 30 inches in height. When it goes dormant at the end of July interplant with more cosmos or cleome.
Also for late July into August a pot containing one blooming lily-of-the-Nile (Agapanthus africanus 'Albus') should be moved about for the best effect. This plant is only hardy above Zone 8 and should spend winters in a greenhouse or a cool north window.
Among the annuals used for the moonlight garden are white gera¬niums (Pelaragonium x hortorum), white petunias (Petunia x hybrida), white nicotiana (Nicotiana data 'Grandiflora'), white cosmos (Cosmos tipinnatus 'Purity'), white spider flower (Cleome Hasslerana 'Alba' or 'Snow Queen'), and for a final round of color under a Harvest Moon, some white bedding mums (Chrysanthemum x morifolium).
On The Other Hand See Pleasant Garden:Arches and complex arbors are among the nost popular garden features you can build. Fhey can be made in a variety of different styles—very sturdy or more delicate —which should be chosen to complement the overall style and scale of your garden. They may be Durely decorative, such as an archway linking ane part of the garden with another, or they may have a more practical purpose, such as Droviding support for climbing plants.
Many people like to use their garden as an extension of their family space—but autdoors. This is where it is important to site :arefully chosen pieces of furniture, which >vill provide not only seating but also something pleasant garden and welcoming to look it. You may like to barbecue in your aackyard and use it as an outdoor kitchen as well as a dining room, in which case the tieady aroma of hot charcoal and grilled food will add greatly to your enjoyment—and that af your visitors—of your garden.
With this equipment, you will be able to produce those startling close-up pictures which, when enlarged by projec¬tion on a screen, seem to magnify the original beauty of the flowers. And these are the pictures which your clients cannot duplicate with their own cameras. They are the shots which will establish you as a flower photography specialist. The other pictures you have occasion to shoot, those showing garden layouts and pleasant garden clumps and clusters and masses of flowering plants, will take care The best sources of customers for your flower photography are the garden clubs and the flower clubs in your commu¬nity.
