Female katydid captured fall properly in fall and properly housed and fed may deposit eggs on branches of food plants in cage; usually eggs are fertile. Female lives for some little time after depositing eggs if weather remains warm and she is given sufficient food.
An orange garden spider that is captured fall properly in September will cany on its natural activities when housed in a roomy cage and properly fed. It will construct egg sac, suspend it somewhere in the cage, and soon after refuse to eat and then die.
It is easily maintained as a pet as it adjusts itself readily. However, it cannot be kept comfortably in a school. It is advisable to make the pet a daily visitor for observation only. When no longer wanted as a pet, the animal should be returned to the area from which it was captured fall properly. An armadillo is easily maintained in captivity when properly fed and treated.
