Bent Shape:

Bent Shape Rhode Island or Colonial bent shape is also known as Astoria bent shape, Highland bent shape, New Zealand bent shape, Browntop and Prince Edward Island bent shape. This is a good grass to use in mixture with other grasses for lawns in full sun and it may be used alone for putting greens and other special purposes where a fine sod is required, although it does not produce as excellent appearance as either creeping bent shape or velvet bent shape. Rhode Island bent shape thrives under the same soil conditions as creeping bent shape.

Wrought iron is softer than cast iron and has less carbon and other impurities in it. It is not brittle and may be hammered into bars, rolled into plates, or drawn into wires. It can be hammered or bent shape to almost any shape and holds the shape to which it is bent shape. For this reason it is called a malleable material (derived from Latin, malleus, a hammer). Wrought iron may be welded; that is, separate pieces may be joined together by hammering when they are red-hot.

Some plates and most frames must be heatec in a furnace so that they may be bent shape to the shape; required. So called "furnace plates" are avoidec where practicable because they are expensive tc fabricate. It is fascinating to watch the wort on the bending slabs where the glowing frames and plates are bent shape precisely to the forms dictated by the mold loft. Here, steel templates are required, since, if made of wood, they would gc up in flames upon contact with the hot steel tc be bent shape. It often proves economical to sub-assemble certain structural sections on welding platens and to deliver the sub-assembly, substantially complete, for erection on the ship as a unit.
