Basket Swinging: More permanent installations require their own housings and these types are characterised by the basket strainer. Here, a suitably strengthened wire mesh or perforated plate shaped into a basket is placed inside a sealed housing through which the feed stream flows under pressure. In simplex systems the flow continues until the strainer is clogged with the unwanted solids. At this point the flow is interrupted and the basket is manually changed.
With the acrobats Picasso also brought objects back into his pictures: the girl's basket swinging from her hand, the clown's sack thrown over his shoulder, the young man's drum on his back, and the woman's Vase in the foreground. Although these props do not actually tell any stories, they nevertheless serve to characterize the figures more accurately. Also, the relationship between the figures is easier and lighter. This can be seen in the easy-going way in which the harlequin is holding the little girl's hand. And yet neither the figures nor the objects lend themselves to reading anecdotes into them. Picasso is describing a condition, not telling a story.
Box may be used, but basket is better because pet sleeps curled up. For young pet, half fill basket with soft, warm cloths and dry, soft hay or grass. For adult, use dry grass or hay only. Change bedding once weekly. |
