Artists Design:

Artists Design Over 60 leading artists design and architects have joined forces to design works out of snow and ice in Lapland this winter. Extraordinary architectonic structures will rise in the towns of Kemi and Rovaniemi, Finland, as part of "The Snow Show," a unique cultural project that brings together artists design and architects to design collaborative installations using snow and ice as their primary materials. From February 12 through the end of March, Kemi and Rovaniemi will be hosts to this exhibition of environmental art that replaces the familiar, permanent materials of art and architecture.

Among the leading US Pop artists design are Roy Liechtenstein, Claes Oldenburg, James Rosenquist, George Segal, Andy Warhol and Tom Wesselmann. Major British Pop artists design are Peter Blake and Richard Hamilton. Pop artists design have appeared in all highly industrialised countries, notably in France, Italy,Japan and Sweden. In the US, Pop artists design have clustered in New York and in California.

Born in Tanzania, his influences range from West African art and architecture to the work of musicians such as George Lewis and Sun Ra and artists design like Walter de Maria and David Hammons. His exploration of scale, measurement, space, light and materials has led to collaborations with artists design including Olafur Eliasson and Chris Ofili. The exhibition in the Upper Galleries follows Adjaye's built and planned public buildings in three stages: from design to production and completion.
