If the view is good, and it can be relied upon to remain so, then make the most of it, but if you want to keep the focus within the garden, try using a formal arrangement large pots of large pots or upright conifer trees. These may not mask a poor view but they will give details of some substance to attract the eye.
Interim measures have their uses: beds can be filled with annuals until you can afford more expensive shrubs; an arrangement large pots of attractive pots can provide the focal point until a statue or sculpture has been added.
Pots.—For special types of glass there are day tanks with capacities of up to 10 tons, depending on the quantity of glass that can be handled in a single day's operation. For other types of glass, pots are used. Normally, each pot will have a capacity of up to two tons and may be open or hooded to prevent contamination of the mix by falling particles; and the number of pots in a furnace may run as high as 20.
